About me

I am a business instructor at CTC in Monroe, LA.

Activity

I just completed ED105 and found it quite helpful in coming up with methods for grading and delivering course content.  There were a few ideas that I hadn't considered and some explanations (especially about evaluations and grading) that were really helpful in understanding why we grade or do things in a certain way.

@srmeers1 :I just completed ED104 and feel it was helpful.  While a lot of it was information that I have picked up from experience, I did learn a couple new strategies that I plan to incorporate into my classroom.  I noticed that almost every issue I've had with students was covered, which would be very helpful for new instructors.  I like the ideas presented for getting more student involvement and interaction as well as suggestions for handling difficult students, e.g. the use of cards for students to use to speak in class.

As an adjunct instructor, I didn't see the relevance of a lot of this information.  While the FERPA information and overviews may be helpful, I will rarely if ever use any of the other information I got from this.  It's good to understand how much the school has to deal with, but that was REALLY in depth to require of all employees.
