Background checks should happen in all instances. But I think the credit checks are uncalled for. If you check a persons background and they are clear but they have a bad credit history, should this make a person unable to become part of the faculty. I don't think so. You are not aware of what actually happened or the circumstances to the situation. Too many times interviews aren't even done becuase of this, regardless of the laws.
