I learned that understanding student motivation, reinforcing learning, and supporting retention and transference are essential for student success. Students stay engaged when lessons connect to their experiences, provide immediate feedback, and allow repeated practice. I will apply this by tailoring activities to their motivations, giving timely and positive feedback, linking lessons to real-world applications, and providing repeated opportunities to practice skills. This approach will help students remain motivated, confident, and prepared for their careers

I learned that creating a supportive and engaging learning environment is just as important as delivering course content. Students succeed when they feel comfortable, safe, accepted, and respected, and when lessons are connected to their goals and experiences. Personalized feedback and knowing students’ names and backgrounds help build trust and motivation.

I can apply this by making an effort to learn my students’ names early, checking in on how they’re doing, connecting lessons to real-world applications, giving regular positive feedback, and creating a classroom atmosphere where everyone feels valued and included. I learned that student success isn’t just about teaching the material—it’s also about creating a supportive environment. Things like making students feel comfortable, safe, accepted, and respected, learning their names, understanding their backgrounds, and giving positive feedback all make a big difference. Personalizing lessons and showing how the material applies to their goals helps students stay motivated and engaged. Essentially, the “human factor” is just as important as the content itself.

I learned that understanding student needs is really important for helping them succeed and stay in the program. Students have intrinsic needs, like wanting to learn skills and feel competent, and extrinsic needs, like feeling safe, comfortable, and recognized in the classroom.

I’ll apply this by making sure my students feel supported both personally and academically—creating a safe, welcoming environment, showing them how the skills they’re learning connect to real-world success, and recognizing their efforts along the way. This should help keep them motivated and engaged.

learned that lecturing isn’t just one style—there are different ways to do it, like interactive, problem-solving, or case-based, and each one can keep students more engaged. It also showed me that just talking the whole time can make students passive, so mixing things up is important.

I’ll apply this by not relying on just one lecture style and instead making my lessons more interactive and engaging so students stay involved and understand the material better.

I learned that the first day of class is really about setting the tone and building a good learning environment. Things like using the three M’s, doing introductions, and getting students involved early can make a big difference.

I’ll apply this by making my first day more interactive, learning students’ names quickly, and creating a comfortable space where everyone feels included and ready to participate.

I learned that it’s important to clearly plan out goals, objectives, and the syllabus so students know exactly what they’re working toward. Goals give the big picture, while objectives break things down into specific, measurable tasks.

I plan to apply this by being more organized when planning lessons, making my expectations clear, and if i ever teach in the classroom I plan on creating a syllabus that helps students stay on track and understand what they need to do to succeed.

I learned that being a good instructor isn’t just about knowing your subject. You also need to know how to teach it well and connect with your students. The module broke it down into technical skills, professional skills, and personal skills. Basically, you need to understand your field, keep improving how you teach, and build good relationships with your students so they can succeed.
