There are many pitfalls that one has to watch out for in the decision making process. It is important to observe, understand and protect against these in order to have a productive process. 

Leading a team takes a combination of talent and skill. A team leader must spend a large portion of their time observing the team dynamics and adjusting course in real time. 

Understanding when to coach is just as important as understanding how to coach. Coaching requires the utilization of emotional intelligence. 

How do you motivate an employee to embrace new policies and procedures that are necessary in order for the business to stay relevant in its respective field?

At this time in my life, I have been tasked with the complex responsibility of managing. I know that I am a leader, and that is what sometimes makes my current role challenging. I find myself wanting to innovate and find ways to improve processes, but I am burdened with the responsibilities of managing the current processes. I do believe that honing my managing skills will help me to be a better leader, and once I return to the role of a leader, I know that I will be much more effective than I was before. 

Leadership is skill that is embedded in one's character.

It is unfortunate that there are so few good managers among us. This goes to show, however, that managing is not only a skill that can be learned but it is a talent that can be developed. Finding someone with the natural talent to manage and then assigning management tasks to that individual would not only put that person in the ideal situation to excel and to grow but would also provide substantial support for the team. 

Course evaluations are very useful for the evolution of any specific course. Course revisions should be ongoing for as long as the course is offered and can even produce different versions of the course that can be more suitable in different situations. A class with a low number of students may benefit from a certain version of the course that was developed and tested on smaller class sizes. It is important for the instructor to encourage and to model healthy behavior in regards to collaboration among students. An online learning environment has a culture of it's own and the instructor has the largest amount of influence as to the manner in which that culture is developed. 

A well structured course can reduce student and instructor stress, which creates a more conducive learning environment. Successful course design starts with a plan and includes several executions for fine tuning and modification.
