About me

Activity

This course was timely as I set up experience for students near completion of their program.  The objectives included hands-on practice managing their peers.  It was very helpful to read the concise points offered and with examples the students recovered some energy and participated with renewed enthusiasm

With my focus for the next 4 months only in the clinical area, I plan to use support materials in this manner. Each student is given a current journal article to read and give a report on. The articles focus on the particular pts we work with. The Pygmalian effect is applied here in that I expect each report to capture the intent of the article and to bring a higher level of understanding of the pt to each student.

I do hands on at the bedside with pts who are possibly alert but almost all non-verbal. I keepin mind they hear every word said. I will use the gesture mode to signal student in the process of a procedure to stop! Then we can regroup eithor at the bedside or out of the room and discuss the problem.
Put Pre-printed test questions numbered and multiple choice in a grap bag and 2nd bag with the rationales but not numbered--Split class in half and have each half draw from one bag and match up question and rationale.
