A culture of compliance sets every student up for success. We all must act with integrity, consistency, fairness, transparency, knowledge, purpose, and inclusiveness.
Misrepresentation can be substantial if the recipient could reasonably be expected to rely on its accuracy when making an enrollment decision. That is why it is important to be accurate, stick to the facts, and have integrity when discussing things.
A representation can become a misrepresentation if it is misleading. Stick to the facts when giving information, not opinions.
A disclosure is a factual statement provided by an institution while a representation is any statement given by a representative of an institution either written or verbally, and representatives should be careful in making representations. For example never guarantee employment, also never guarantee transfer of credits as that is specifically up to the receiving institution.
I learned that if a school is not a Title IV school then it is not eligible for federal financial aid and it is important to adhere to the rules and regulations from the triad.
I learned that having a culture of compliance is more than just having a set of rules to follow, it is also building trust and showing that we care and have integrity/ethics
