Activity

Thinking through student attrition causes and what an instructor can do to help address that is helpful.

The similarities, differences, advantages, and disadvantages of synchronous vs asynchronous discussion was helpful.

Discussion question participation and projecting engagement in different activities doesn't take much for a professor to have their presence noted by students in those online activities or assignments.

The importance of working through the student orientation experience is a good one not just ot better understand their viewpoint but also for thinking through improvement.

Its good when noticing student behavior issues, to try to respond in a way that best suits that behavior, so that the whole class can return to focus (including that student).

I can be my own source of issues with active learning strategies and need to be more open to experimenting in the classroom.

Each student should be participating in a meaningful way.

I should think through how each student is participating as well as the skills they are applying throughout the activity itself.

"By the time you have figured out what the words are suppose to be you will have forgotten what the sentence said." This sentence was really helpful, As I had not realized that I was able to separate the words but didn't comprehend them until I read the following translation sentence. It was true that my mental energy was needed to separate the words and make sense of the sentence and comprehension didn't happen at the same time, so re-reading it would have been more helpful to me, which would have needed more time.

The vocabulary review and in Biology, maybe breaking the meanings of chunks out of the latin words will help students recognize meanings, especially if they are repeated in class a few times.
