Modifications and accommodations help the individual with learning. Each individual also needs to be their own advocate as they get older. Most employers do not make accommodations or modifications, 

I did not realize how many different learning abilities there is. Being unable to just have problems with letters or just numbers.

I have learned the process of teaching someone to read and what their brain must do in order to do this. I was surprised that the average reading level is 8th grade and newspapers are written on an average 9th grade reading level,

Always be prepared and organized. If you make a mistake, make the students aware that you know you made the mistake and you take responsibility. Humor can help the students open up to you.

I learned in this lesson to always have control of your class. When dealing with an angry student, listen to what they have to say.

Get to know your students and their actions. Knew which ones are there to learn and those that will want to manipulate you. 

I have learned that when starting a new class, you need to set clear instructions and expectations. Also, you need to try to connect with all the students. Show them respect and expect the same from them.
