Tech Fear

I always do a practice run with any new technology. Sometimes with students from a different class during their break time just to see if it works before "going live". I often ask them to help me if I don't understand the technology.

Colored Paper

The instructor for my college program who runs the same classes I do used to use colored paper all the time. We used to think it was so funny but now I see why she did it. It is so much easier to refer to the yellow handout than by the heading of the paper, even if the headings are VERY clear and easy to read.

And students should understand they may need additional child care for studying! Most students understand they need something in place while thery are in class but don't consider they will need a chunk of time outside fo class for assignments and studying.

Part of being a committed student is being about to afford your education

It was certainly something I didn't think of when going to school. How much is this going to cost me and how much am I likely to make after graduation? People only talk about "what you want to be when you grow up."
