I learned that people are people and that many of the approaches used for younger sstudents can work with older ones, but need to be modified for the adult leaner. I would love to see the Harvard Business School videos in their entirety. They seem to stop just as they get interesting....

Having taught high school for many years I am surprised to find that my adult studenets are not all too much different. 

Preparation is multi faceted. It ranges from preparing the class activities to interpersonal preparation with students - with so much more in between. 

Probably the most important aspect is to be YOU. I have seen and tried to emulate many great teachers, but I didn't feel truly comfortable in my role as a teacher until I found my own "groove", inspired by those other teachers.

I also like the part about not trying to prove how smart you are....I like to go by the saying "If you are the smartest one in the room, you are in the wrong room!". :)
