About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Hi Van, Absolutely, if there is a relationship, the student is very comfortable around the instructor. The student does not mind approaching the instructor. Rapport is everything when it comes to a student/teacher relationship. Instructors should make it a point to make every student feel comfortable. Patricia

Hi Noralee, Great response! It is certainly a motivator to show examples of students work. Students truly get a great boost in their confidence level once they see examples from previous students. They tend to have a better understanding as well. Patricia
