About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Hi Jennifer, I personally would not do it. You can tell them beforehand what will get them an "A" on the project or use an example from a previous grading period, but I would not do it after the fact. The key is to be proactive and not hurt any feelings or offend anyone.

Hi Meron, I emphasize to my students on Day 1 the importance of attendance in order to be successful in the class. I also let my students know that employers are real big on great attendance. Attendance says a lot about your character. In addition, I mention to my students an employer would rather have someone with impeccable attendance than to have a 4.0 student. Patricia
