Hi Kevin, I like your idea of being organized. I am the same way. I am definitely not a last minute instructor; this type of behavior can get you in a lot of trouble in education. Preparation/organization are key factors in this business. The better prepared/organized you are the less complaints you will have from students. Patricia

Hi Mitchell, As educators, our reputations preceed us. Students are very judgemental and will develop opinions about you based on what others have said. We know who we are, therefore we cannot worry about this, but we can control these students and not let them take over the classroom. You have to be firm with this type of student. I have also seen the flip side where this type of student really grew to love and respect the instructor. Patricia

Hi Cheryl, Yes! I absolutey love having guest speakers due to what you have mentioned as well as guest speakers adding validity to all the things that have been taught in the classroom. Guest speakers present from first-hand experience. Students are truly motivated by guest speakers. Patricia

Hi Kleber, A copy is no doubt cheat. I like that. Variation of tests really does minimize cheating. I simply make it obvious to my students you are being watched like a hawk during test time. Patricia

Hi Kimberly, I like to use both methods because that way I am probably reaching ALL or at least the majority of my students. As you stated, every student learns differently, and we need to teach to all. Patricia
