About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Hi Yvette, Just remember to utilize what you've learned from this course. Patricia
Hi Carrie, I am sure your students appreciate your openess and honesty. This is the best way to be to minimize student complaints/concerns. Patricia

Hi Gwen, Students enjoy playing games that are applicable to the lesson. There is nothing like having fun while learning. Patricia
Hi Laura, Visuals are highly appreciated by students. Things become really clear to students whenever they can see the finished product. Patricia
Hi Dellene, Preparation is certainly key! Students can tell when you are unprepared. Patricia
Hi Lindsay, Distance is very important. We should never give our students the inclination that we are befriending them. Patricia
Hi Magda, If this works do it! I just make sure I am extremely organized, confident, and knowledgeable in the subject matter. I get to work 30 minutes ahead of time, but I do not get the luxury of alone time. My thoughts are being gathered in the shower, and as I drive to school. Patricia
Hi Scott, I concur! Students should know that our lives are not perfect, but we work through our problems by using good problem solving skills, and we continue to push forward with our goals. Patricia
