About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Activity

Hi James, Sharing practical experience is always exciting to students. Students want to and love to hear our stories. Patricia
Hi Katrina, You are right! It is our responsibility to ensure the classroom environment is conducive for learning. Patricia
Hi Dale, Distance is important regardless! Students should know that you are there to teach and not befriend them. Patricia
Hi James, If it works continue to use it! I have been taught to cater to the auditory, visual, and kinesthetic learners. Old school instructors/teachers are known to be some of the best! Patricia
Hi Beverly, Great idea as to how to bring about separation. Sometimes I teach from the back of the class, my back then becomes my front. Great way to keep your students on top of things. Patricia
Hi Geraldine, Absolutely! We have a lot on us to educate our students. It is soley our job to prepare them for their career. Patricia
Hi Alice, My students do too! Guest speakers are so inspiring and motivating for students. It is good for our students to hear another professional say the same things as we have told them. Patricia
Hi Bryce, I also make sure the desk is cleared of unneeded items, including water bottles and cell phones. Patricia
Hi Alice, What do you do to avoid common instructor mistakes? I like to prepare! Patricia
Hi Geraldine, I concur! Graduate guest speakers are the absolute best! They have great testamonies to share. Patricia
