About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Hi Justin, Preparation is key! Preparation really puts you at ease because you are ready. Patricia
Hi Bridget, That's right! You do not need to befriend your students. Befriending a student creates way too many problems. Patrici
Hi Caro, Whenever you make course objectives apply to the real world, students are normally sold on the course. Patricia
Hi Ginell, It is nice when you have students that are very participative, and they participate in a way that is nonchallenging; They provide meaningful input. I enjoy this type of student. Patricia
Hi Gregory, That's right! As long as you treat everyone the same no one has anything to complain about. Being fair is a must in the classroom. Patricia
Hi Jennifer, It is amazing what sharing your passion for the product/profession can do for your students. Your students become excited about the course/product because you are excited. Patricia
Hi Gerti, Field Trips are great for students to see how book theory is being applied in the workplace. Field trips are an exciting critical thinking activity even for college students. Patricia
Hi Donna, Videotaping is a great way for an instructor to critique their delivery style. Patricia
Hi Leonardo, That's right! Give the silent student some lead roles to force them or encourage them to become involved. Patricia
Hi Ramona, Excitement is contagious, and it really starts with the instructor. Patricia
