About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Hi Louis, I have found that reviews really help most of our students. Reviews make things a lot clearer for students. Patricia
Hi Melissa, Students need a clear understanding of exactly what is expected of them. A question answer session is very effective to provide clarification. Patricia
Hi Jon, Graduate testamonies are great for students to hear so that they are inspired by the presentation. Patricia
Hi Leslie, I concur! Guest speakers are inspiring to all. Patricia
Hi Mark, I can tell you care about your students. You went above and beyond with this student to make personal contact to discover the reason for their shyness. Students need to know that we geniunely care about them. Patricia
Hi Charlotte, I have learned generally what is good for the students is also good for the instructor. Patricia
Hi Scott, What an awesome response. Excitement does start at the top with the instructor. Excitement is contagious. If the instructor is excited, typically most of the students will be excited. Patricia
Hi Christopher, Great way to handle this. Sometimes the common denominator is the student who shifts blame. We will see how well she works out in the other group. Patricia
Hi John, You must try it! Graduate guest speakers are the absolute best. It is a win-win situation for all involved. The graduate guest speaker will be honored to be asked, the students will be very motivated to continue and have something forward to look to, and any former instructors the graduate may have had will be extremely proud. Patricia
Hi Elizabeth, That's right! Rules, policies, and procedures are put in place to be adibed by (students) and eforced (instructors). When a rule, policy, or procedure is broken the student should be reprimanded accordingly. Patricia
