About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Hi Jeannette, When students can visualize what is expected of them, they have a better understanding of it all. Patricia Scales
Hi Linda, It sounds like you are very thorough. Continue to probe you students to determine if they are clear on what is expected of them. Patricia Scales
Hi Laura, Reviewing the syllabus is very important on the first day so that students get clarity as to what is expected of them. Patricia Scales

Hi Alan, Students enjoy active learning, and they retain more through active learning. Patricia Scales
Hi Cynthia, I like the variation that you use to get your students to buy into the course. Students want to and need to know how they are going to benefit from a course professionally. Patricia Scales
Hi Elizabeth, Making money and saving money are definitely great motivators. I can see how students can really develop a great interest in this practical exercise. Patricia Scales
