About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Hello Gary, You do have those students that have graduated, and regret not paying more attention in class. It frustrates me whenver a student does not pay full attention in class. Patricia
Hi Gary, I like the advice given to the students about never to pass up a chance to learn something. I wish everyone was like me and enjoyed learning new things. Patricia
Hi William, The bottom line is to give the students what they really need to know to be successful. Continue to keep your students' success at heart. Patricia
Hi Charles, I have been teaching for overy 20 years and I have never showed favortisim toward a particular student. I treat all of my students the same. Showing favoritisim can create all sorts of problems. Patricia

Hi Eric, Absolutely, you must act when others begin to roll their eyes and make comment under their breath. This type of behavior is totally unacceptable, and you must act quickly in order to nip it in the bud. Patricia
Hello Steve, Being prepared minimizes a lot of anxiety on the instructor's part. I feel a sense of relief when I know I am prepared to cover a lesson. Students really do see through unpreparedness, which is not good. Patricia
Hi Charles, I have many hands-on learners as well. I try each day to include activities that will reach all learners. Patricia
Hi Kristen, Students like seeing the end product. Continue to excite your students so that they can see the big picture. Patricia
