About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Activity

Hi Adrienne, Thoroughness can eliminate a lot of confusion and misunderstanding. Patricia
Hi Allina, Respect in the workplace is a MUST just as it is in the classroom. Patricia
Hi Carl, You dress the part; this is no doubt acceptable. Your students know what they should look like whenever they begin their field experience. Patricia
Hi Jessica, You get me excited just from reading your response! I bet your students thoroughly enjoy you LIVE! Patricia
Hi Sue, Generally whenever personal experience is shared the shy student will open up because he or she feels they can relate. Patricia
Hi Jose, Preparation is key. You MUST be prepared before class starts. Patricia
Hi Wendy, You are right! We expect a lot out of our students, therefore, we should model the same behavior. "Practice what you preach." Patricia
Hi Carl, What do you do to be regarded as having the look of a "professional?" Patricia
Hi Raymond, Students can quickly pick up when you are unprepared. Being unprepared can cause one to lose all credibility. Patricia
Hi Kasey, You must monitor your more dominant students and do not allow them to take over because they will grab the ball and run with it. There has to be time for the more introverted students to participate. Patricia
