My students know within a few days that i request respect from them in return, I respect them> They know I like a clean and organized classroom and that we can have fun, as long as we get our work done.

I apply this daily when students leave by reminding them to clean up and put up each day.

Ask myself if I can learn the material the way it is presented. Knowing that my students, just like my children, learn in different ways.

Build from what you know and what works for most students, adding in the differentiated methods to capture allof your students in some way during the lesson.

The only way to teach students effectively is to continue to learn and grow with your profession. If something is not working for your students, make the change and try new strategies.

I am going to continue with PBL's, integrating real world experiences, and bringing in local industry partners to help with getting the pint across to the students in Personal Finance.

We have a very good individual who is a recent retired teacher and she helps many of us new and old teachers with new and improved strategies for our new and improved students. Without integrating some of the techniques, your lessons will quickly become stale and the students who do not learn like you do will be missing the lesson, the message, and the outcome that is expected of them.

The learning objectives for Personal Finance relate to real life and real situations that students can/will encounter within the first few years of finishing high school. It is important that they know how and why they need to care for their personal finances.

This year, I finally have a broad scope of business and industry individuals on my advisory board and plan to use them to help prop up and guide me towards more industry options for students who complete the Finance program. They have a huge part in what we produce in regard to students ready for the work force.

Knowing what is expected is extremely important to all... the student, parents, faculty of high school, faculty of college. Knowledge is powerful in regard to doing the ork that will be required of the student.

Knowing what is available and what is needed in the local industry should help local BOE's create and modify CTE so that we can have marketable students once they graduate.

Making sure that I am working with other CTE teachers and not against them in regard to vertical alignment. The students need to learn the next step, the next process, not what they have already learned.
