Getting the key personnel together and meeting to discuss the transitions and making sure that all parties are on the same page and in agreement. Communication is valuable at this stage. 

Have a balanced board with representation from staff, faculty, industry, and graduate students. Soliciting member engagement and making sure that the time is valuable. 

Make, create, and distribute bylaws that are clear, understandable, and easy to follow. Provide flexibility and open communication for advisory boards to evolve, grow and provide valuable feedback. 

Keeping board members engaged, showing them that you truly appreciate them in addition to recognizing them, and last but not least show them that they have been heard. The opinion and voice matters. 

Feedback is necessary and prudent in order to become more effective and efficient when it comes to advisory boards. 

One must have structure and order for advisory board meetings. Utilizing Robert's Rules of Order will allow the meeting to flow seamless and stay on the agenda at hand. 

Setting up an Advisory Board Meeting, prepping, getting key people involved and making sure you have an agenda to adhere to. 

You must lay the groundwork for a solid advisory board in order to make sure you have viable candidates that include employers, industry professionals, faculty, grads and career services in order to get a variety of different and unique perspective. 

Learned that the key elements of orientation and onboarding set the stage for proper employee starting points for success. Having best practices makes it a seamless and easy process to follow. 

Stick to the tried and true method of the structured interview. Give ample time and prepare for each interview. Choose and vet the best, most qualified for the interview.
