I had one class last year where I experienced the Gen Z stare in real time. It was a challenge due to the class size; I think there was no where for any of them to hide in the crowd. It took a lot of patience on my end to meet them where they were and continue to make sure I was observing and listening to the class in order to cover the content. I pivoted a lot during the lessons and created activities on the fly (more small group work) than I had planned on, but at the end… >>>

At my school, there is a large poster to remind all of us that we are working toward the YET. I cannot count how many times I have said that to myself and to my students. They "get the yet!"

It is simple, but creates and provides the energy and momentum toward the growth mindset. And if it is simple and easy to use more folks will do it.

Fortunately, modern students seem to be more open to taking wellness breaks in the classroom especially after COVID. Often I will allow everyone a minute to just breathe and relax before we start our class work. I appreciate that "hope, gratitude, and love" made it to the top three character strengths~seems simple, but we forget and need to be reminded sometimes.

As I have reviewed what others have written, I am encouraged to think, as a group, teachers rock! We have so much compassion to help others and we try to find more and more ways to communicate with ourselves better, so we may communicate fully and honestly with our students and our colleagues. I have often found myself just looking around to others in a staff meeting and just sighing with relief that I can be a small part of such a wonderful way of life and work.

I appreciate the concrete steps that we all can take; the more specific steps explained will increase the chances of actual outcomes that are observable and perhaps even measurable. It's great to have a poster to remind us to "hang in there" and "stay positive," but there needs to be actionable moments in real time.

"The development of AI must be accompanied by continuous dialogue and collaboration across various sectors and disciplines to harness its full potential while safeguarding against its limitations."

I decided to use this evidence from the lesson because it encapsulated the tremendous amount of work that lies ahead for all stakeholders (students, teachers, admin, policy makers, and governence, et al).

This is a lot and I don't know, what I don't know because I don't know yet. I need to create a new part of the "closet" of my brain to start adding new items to my wardrobe of thought. This… >>>

I am learning how to recognize voice/tone of ChatGPT that will be helpful as I teach advance comp to my incoming classes. In the last two years, I found the AI generated phraseology creeping in student's work and each passing year, the trickle has turned into a tsunami.

Recently, I watched a documentary on quantum entanglement and I found that section of this lesson interesting and scary at the same time! Linearity is OUT~

Repetitive phrases/concepts that seemed to form a pattern was infrastructure cost, training of instructors, and measured moves to ensure ethics in several areas. Specifically, using ML in my classroom for immediate feedback on activities that have been thoughtfully curated for reaching meaningful standards embedding AI inspired lessons.

Society reflects the grip that false reporting or the idea that Wikipedia is a valid source has overtaken our cultutral attitude that if I saw it on TV or heard it on social media, than it must be true. Are we that lazy or is it a lack of caring? Just sayin'

We all agree that we have to "defang" the negativity that a lot of kids and adults have towards reading. How many parents still read to their children or read at home? It starts there~~
