Managing an online classroom requires careful planning and strategic preparation. 

Effective online engagement requires a good understanding of synchronous vs. asynchronous methods, adapting to diverse learning needs, and maintaining a strong instructor presence. 

Being present in an online class builds trust and motivation, helps students stay engaged, and creates opportunities for meaningful interaction. I encourage students to speak with me and their peers face to face, rather than relying only on chat. My biggest personal challenge in some classes is getting students to show their full faces on camera. 

One of the biggest takeaways for me was how important it is to be familiar with the course content, including the goals, the organization of the modules and lessons, the assessment structure, and the expectations placed on both the students and the instructor. I also learned how crucial it is to understand the CMS from both perspectives.
