Motivation can be achieved many ways to others, but it is important to note that it is a great way to help bring someones best performance out of them. A raise may come to be expected year after year which may not be the biggest motivator over something like public recognition or awards/trophies. It is important to recognize individuality and work performance/ethic to help motivate someone to becoming the best possible versions of themselves.

I think it is a great idea to prepare yourself for a class beforehand in order to understand what is is you are trying to achieve, and how to most efficiently go about doing your lecture. Most adults have an attention span that will not go over 20 minutes, so being concise in your delivery is key, as well as leaving time for students to go ahead and ask follow-up questions. Proper prevention prevents problems!

It is really important to be an instructor that a student can look forward to learning off of. Letting them know a little bit about your professional experience is a good insight to the bodies of knowledge you may possess that they can inquire about. Asking them to share some details about themselves also gives good insight to who it is they are trying to become so that you are better able to coach their growth.

Having and using the class syllabus is a vital part of staying on track and focusing in on what it is that is needed for the students to successfully complete the requirements. Being very punctual and prepared for different situational scenarios is also crucial in helping the students absorb all aspects of what it is they are trying to learn.

The key takeaways that I have gotten from this module are the things I personally strive for in my personal life. I take my presentation to the outside world very seriously as far as appearance, verbal and non-verbal communication, as well as knowing when to listen versus when to speak. Being a good instructor is all about understanding the students and their needs, as well as figuring out how to best help them.
