Knowing the subject matter and preparing it for presentation will help to present it more comfortably and demonstrate to the students my understanding and enthusiasm for the subject matter.

I plan to demonstrate the expectations with my own personal actions as people tend to learn from example.

I've learned that some extrinsic motivation can also lead to intrinsic if used properly and that intrinsic motivation leads to better retaining of course content and future progression.

I plan to implement autonomy methods to encourage active participation and better learning and developement of skills to the related trade.

I have learned the importance of communicating to the students their clear objectives for the course and some of the methods I'm going to use to help them to meet the objectives and that I will be available to help them even outside the classroom.

I've learned that adult students sharing in their experiences can be a great motivator for them as well the other students. This adds more content and engagement.

I intend to motivate and maintain the students through sharing their personal experiences and mine with others and helping them to understand the importance of their failures and/or successes. 

I believe that a particular story matching the topic and showing that you had your trials and tribulations while learning the trade will help to encourage the students to understand that failures are evident and be valuable lessons to being better at your trade.

I also enjoy learning with the students and when asked a question that I don't know the answer to I can demonstrate how we find the answers in the field and then we can share our learning experience.

I learned that teaching is more than just presenting material. It's about getting the students in the right frame of mind to learn by treating them with respect and keeping it real, as in real world. Having them understand that what they are learning is skill that is required in the field to help them progress in their career.

I have just learned that in discovering the individuals in the class backgrounds that I can fine tune the curriculum to better suit the students through knowledge/experience sharing. This will also help the students with class participation.
