Activity

In this module I learned new vocabulary terms that pertain to admissions and I was able to print them out and have them available when needed.

I will be applying all of this information on my day to day, working in education.

I learned that the law does not require active intervention to prevent a crime of sexual violence. However, there are simple steps that you can take, such as simply being more aware of the potential for sexual violence and re-directing the potential perpetrator, which can be very effective in preventing a crime and maintaining a safe community.

One of the things I learned in this module is there is no fixed time frame under which a school must complete a Title IX investigation.

In this module I have learned that it is important to periodically review Title IX and VAWA policies to make sure they are up to date. I also learned that a school is not required to employ a person who has a professional duty to keep reports of sexual violence, However, the institute must provide information about resources in the community.

What I have learned from this module is that title IX and VAWA are a part of helping institutions promote the changing of campus culture and providing safe and supportive learning environments for all students and employees.
