As educators it is important to facilitate individualized ways of learning to best help the students meet their needs. Using a holistic method allows teachers to see the students capabilities and potential.
Language is essential in how others communicate, regardless of the methods they use (ASL, Written, expressive language). Accessibility and opportunity allow us to fill gaps in language and literacy.
Culture and race are essential in understanding and creating a diverse classroom/learning environment. By showing interest and sensitivity to another person's race and cultural backgrounds, you as the instructor can model inclusivity and empower others to implement this in their peer-to-peer behaviors.
Each person is different and learn in different ways. Creating a learning environment where everyone feels included, respected, free from bias allows them to grow beyond what they may have felt possible when given the appropriate tools to be successful.

Career Ed Lounge is embedded in over eighty professional development portals serving the career and technical education community. Performance Groups in the Lounge are integrated with related learning opportunities offered on these portals. With a few exceptions, Performance Groups are also publicly available to any member of the Lounge to maximize peer-to-peer learning and performance outcomes.
