Using the 4 O's of course layout is important for a successful semester.

Technology can be very beneficial to the learning experience but it can also hinder just as much as it can help if it's not used in the proper or most effective ways.

Safety should always come first in the lab as it is on the instructor to insure that all safety laws and rules are being followed by everyone.

Using a rubric helps give a fair grading system for all students and lets students know what degree they are expected to know things.

Knowing each students different learning style can help you pair up similar styles to make it easier to teach different groups in ways that best accommodate their learning style.

Competency based learning is a student centered educational approach. 

Finding out what type of motivators students have in their life helps you to add supporting motivators to their learning and life paths.

Autonomy is really important for adult learners, it helps motivate them and keep them engaged in their learning.
