Having a fun and healthy way to break the ice for the first class helps you set the pace and environment for the semester to come. Students should feel welcomed, heard, and that being in class matters. You can do this by appearance, positivity, and helping students get to know each other so they can encourage each other to work hard and study together.

Having a well rounded syllabus that outlines the entire curriculum, your information, and enough information to answer any question students will have, helps students answer their own common questions. Which lets you spend more time improving your class and teaching time. Planning and proper preparation is key to having a great class.

As an instructor we are what is guiding the next generation on their career paths. As such we need to be the very best we can be everyday and continue improving ourselves and our knowledge of the curriculum. Choose to be a positive role model in their life everyday.
