Student information is private and typically isnt shared freely. Protecting student information is a important and a shared responsibility. 

Follow the rules to protect students' privacy and the institution. Access to records is as needed. Notes transferred from one employee to the other become a part of a student's educational record.

Yes, this was very informed, and I will be applying it to my day-to-day interaction with Students. Staying compliant with state regulations and also maintaining professionalism with the students is always a must.  Being transparent with the students, and providing them with information to aid them into success, staying positive and common at all time.
