A holistic approach to learning and evaluating the students understanding is important to allow them to demonstrate their knowledge without just using standardized tests that do not accurately reflect knowledge and understanding of the material.

Language is not the same thing as literacy. Helping students have access to what they are learning in their mother tongue will help them understand the information and be able to apply it.

It is important to not be "color blind" with the students, but make it a point to get to know them individually and understand their culture and background.

Every student has prior educational and personal experiences that will impact how they learn in class. Trying to get to know students as individuals will help understand their prior experience.

Communication is truly one ofvthe most important soft skills for teaching, but most careers

Conflict management is not one that you would  think is a top soft skill for this makes sense and allowing a comfortable learning environment, where there can be trust

Soft skills, such as integrity, are part of the person and the behavior. It’s so important to exemplify this with both students and other staff.

Being an expert in the learning material is necessary, but soft skills, such as patience, creativity, diligence, and discipline are just as important as an educator.

I am looking forward to using opening thinking puzzles and small group discussions to help the students get ready to learn and also apply what they are learning throughout the classes

I love the t-shirt idea to help them identify the correct placement of organs, but also stethoscope and hands for examination
