Your environment is everything. If its messy, you're work will be messy. If its organized, you will be organized. Furthermore, ensure that there are sufficient time, space, and ability to be able to step away and reset when necessary.
Friction is a real process-killer. I've learned that the best way to help reduce friction with students is to be transparent and honest with them. Its always important to ensure that you are serving your student's needs rather than simply selling them the program. A mentor once told me that you aren't simply finding out who our customers are, but we're finding out who they aren't as well.
With this being my 3rd day on the job, I really appreciated the reminder that requisite variety takes time to build and that, as you work to develop your consultative skill over time, the number of arrows in your quiver tends to increase as well, giving you a variety of options and responses to handle any situation that comes up before you with grace.
