Closing the loop is an excellent strategy to foster a better understanding of concepts/the course by all.

Improving the quality of feedback has a direct impact on student performance and engagement.

Outlining communication standards....this is not something I had considered before but it should produce more quality interactions.

The emphasis of having modules be similar in length and structure. Structure I had thought about but no length.

I think the goal for online learning to have it be convenient for students to complete but engaging enough for them to want to complete.

I find giving feedback to be the hardest part of online learning. I want to make sure I get to everyone but often, only a few students are the ones asking questions or speaking up. My job, going forward, is to better engage all students to facilitate learning.

Establishing relationships is perhaps more important in online learning than for in person learning, specifically because your online presence really is the only way the students can get to know you (and vice versa).

I think one of the things that stood out to me was consistency in the rules of assignments/discussions/etc. Not only is it important to have this consistent class to class but could also potentially be important for that decision to be made as a department or even an organization. This helps students better adhere to those standards when they stay consistent.

It's really important to have a back-up plan if, for some reason, the technology doesn't work. I've had this experience in the classroom and, while frustrating, it did allow for a different approach to the information which made me rethink how I could utilize technology different in the future.

I enjoyed thinking about the reasons why adult learners are interested in learning - this is a concept that I think is overlooked by some instructors but is crucial to engagement and success.
