I think it's important to learn how to adapt to different students and their learning needs. I want to keep improving how I explain concepts, encourage participation, and give feedback that helps students understand what they can improve on without having them feel discouraged.

What has worked for me as an instructor is communicating clearly, being patient, and making sure students feel comfortable asking questions. I also believe it’s important to explain things in different ways when needed since everyone learns differently, and give students helpful feedback so they can build confidence and improve their skills.

I think using a combo of both intrinsic and extrinsic motivators will help students succeed. I would encourage intrinsic motivation by connecting assignments to their career goals, while also helping students see their own improvement is just as important as rewarding their accomplishments.

From my experience, adult learners are more motivated when they understand how what they're learning can help them reach their personal and career goals. I will say though, at times adult learners disconnect due to having personal commitments like families and work, so recognizing their progress and encouraging them along the way can help them stay on track and remind them of their goals.
