Activity

this module gave me great insight into personal habits to form and preparation for the profession. Having a stress free, calming environment for yourself and your students contributes to good mental energy. I also appreciate the insight into taking care of my energy and time from the beginning. Carving out time for certain things and paying attention to my energy and mental health will help me to do a better job down the road.

Basically, be an active listener and adjust to your prospective students' needs. People are going through different things at different stages of life, so adjust your responses and availability to their needs for the best results. Be open, informed and transparent.

This module made me feel more comfortable stepping into the role of admissions. Learning that it is not expected for you to know everything right from the beginning gave me more confidence to navigate this journey at my own pace and encouraged me to take as many courses as I could to learn as much as I could for this role. The admissions role has a lot to do with personal interactions and personal integrity more so than enrollment numbers and good communication skills are paramount for this position.
