I am definitely a storyteller in class. Relating to experiences helps students understand the content. These learning strategies will be most helpful in the clinical setting as well as the classroom. I have used the acronym APE TO MAN to help students remember location and names of heart sounds while teaching head to toe assessment. 

Learning styles are very important in the classroom and clinical setting. Paying close attention to learning styles will help the student engage better and become successful with content.

I teach in the clinical setting with nursing students. I Plan on using all teaching practices in this part of the module. I particularly will use the dot method. I feel this will keep me informed instead of running around to see what has been done. I also like the scenarios for down time. By including the scenarios,  I will keep the students engaged. In fact, I will do a few things different. Maybe have the students write their own and give to a fellow student.

I am always trying to come up with ideas to keep the students engaged. I plan on trying the scenario learning tool with the index cards. Critical thinking is an area students need to foster. 

I want to pay more attention to the student , and the stories that are having an impact on their life. Taking extra time after class to listen to anything that may be a concern !

I really embrace the stated key objective " help student's develop professional behaviors". This is very important in advancing one's career and being viewed as  a professional in the work environment.

Internships help students build their skills while really looking into what their career is all about. In addition, the organization doing the internship can really see the worthiness of such a program. 

I have been very familiar with HIPPA, and the importance of knowing what to safeguard. FERPA is just as important and all instructors need to have knowledge of this topic especially when it comes to releasing any information about a student. Knowing what is personally identifiable is an area that helped me during this module. Lots of information to absorb! 

Learner motivation is a significant topic to keep in mind when teaching and preparing for your class. I feel by remembering that adult learners are goal oriented, relevancy oriented, and practical , the instructor can build on motivational strategies to help students become successful in their learning . Motivation utilizing  reinforcement through immediate feedback is a cornerstone for learner motivation .
