A strong marketing plan helps bring in prospective students. Just as important is identifying the type of student the institution is best suited to serve, allowing recruitment efforts to focus on individuals who are a good fit for the school's goals and have the greatest potential for success.

The library plays a key role in supporting learning and teaching by giving students and staff access to information, study materials, and research tools.

A school's five-year plan should be guided by data such as enrollment patterns, student input, and retention rates to better meet student needs. It should support academic success, well-being, career preparation, financial literacy, and student involvement. Services should be inclusive, accessible to all students, aligned with educational goals, and regularly reviewed to adapt to changing student populations and priorities.

I would first assess the college’s current situation by reviewing key data and identifying areas that need improvement. Next, I would establish priorities for future growth and student success. Once those priorities are identified, I would develop a practical roadmap with specific initiatives, deadlines, and accountability measures to help achieve the desired outcomes over the next five years.

This module reinforced the importance of FERPA, consumer disclosures, and campus safety compliance. It also showed how required disclosures promote transparency and help students compare institutions. I will apply this knowledge by protecting student information and ensuring required information is communicated accurately.

This module highlighted the important role the Student Accounts (Bursar) department plays in Title IV compliance, particularly regarding timely disbursements and proper separation of duties. It also encouraged me to consider transitioning from paper notices to electronic notifications, which could improve efficiency while maintaining compliance. Going forward, I will focus on strong communication between Financial Aid and Student Accounts to ensure accurate records and a smooth process for students.

This module reinforced the importance of academic integrity, SAP monitoring, and compliance with financial aid regulations. It also highlighted the challenges of managing Leaves of Absence in a standard-term program. Going forward, I will focus on following policies consistently and helping students understand how their academic progress impacts financial aid eligibility.

One thing I learned from this module is that admissions and compliance are closely connected, but they are separate processes with different responsibilities.

"This course has been instrumental in helping me realize that effective leadership and management go hand in hand. It has taught me that one cannot be a good leader without being a good manager, and vice versa. The two roles are complementary and intertwined, and success in either role requires skills and qualities that are essential in both."
