Showing up prepared, classroom is ready, materials are all available. Start each class with some enthusiasm, "this is favorite subject" perhaps to bring about some encouragement by contagious enthusiasm. Doing all of the prep-work overnight or before class read professional journals and tradesman circulars to stay up to date on technology. 

To look after a students needs will increase their chances of successfully completing the course.

Be respectful, don't believe you are the smartest person in the room, keep current with industry trends, never stop learning. be professional.
