Hi Rob - Thanks for your post to the forum. I have no real evidence but somehow doubt that many accounting students are kinesthetic learners. I agree that it is tough to find delivery options that would appeal to them but having them present/problem solve on the whiteboard is a good idea. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan
Hi Wilmer- Thanks for your post to the forum. We all encounter students with basic skills deficiences and as you mention, they can do the work, but are at a disadvantage because they will be continually faced with having to read directions, procedures etc. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan
Hi Lixsa- Thanks for your post to the forum. I liked your idea of having the questions in a basket as every student knows that every day they will be called upon. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan
Hi Beverly- Thanks for your post to the forum. You gave some excellent advice for creating assessments- the bottom line is that we are determining whether the student had learned what we intended which are the objectives. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan
Hi Juanita-I agree, tests and even the reviews for tests can be stressful. Adding some fun can provide relief. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan
Hi Dera- Thanks for your post to the forum. Younpresented some good examples of ways to teach to the learning styles! Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career.- Susan
HI Bill - Thanks for your post to the forum with some excellent advice. I think this is a point that we should really emphasize with our students. They will do a diservice to their employer/clients if they pretend to know an answer when they don't. There is no shame in saying "I'll find the answer and get back to you asap!" Best wishes - Susan
Hi Dean - Great suggestion - Thanks for sharing! Best wishes - Susan
HI Dean - thanks for your post to the forum. I am also a great proponent of group projects for the reason you cite. Asking students to produce a short paper also reinforces the writing/communication skills that they will need. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan
HI Bill - Thanks for your post to the forum. You are obviously giving careful thought to your choice of assessments and therefore making wise choices. Hope you enjoyed this module more than I remember feeling about my own quantitative methods class in grad school! (-: Susan
