FERPA is important because it gives students privacy when in regards to their educational records. This stops schools from sharing sensitive information like their grades, disciplinary actions and financial aid records. It also gives students a look at how they've been doing or what they could change. 

The FERPA (Federal Education rights and Privacy Act of 1974 protects the privacy of a students education record. Students have the right to inspect and review their educational records. 

By using different ways to show information, students can stay engaged. Different strategies are text, audio, visuals like flyers or posters  and videos. 

This module highlighted the fundamental components of what a "course" is. What students can expect while being enrolled in an online course and some of the ways we can evaluate the work. 

Students have different learning styles so by revising the course and continually making changes can better help students that may take the course in the future. 

Using feedback is essential to help students get a better grasp of the concepts, especially if you use guided questions, it helps the student stay engaged and interested in what they are completing. 

I will apply topics like scaffolding because by following the 8 tasks, you can help students build upon the knowledge an experiences that they already have. By having a good course framework, you can help students place their focus where it matters. 

Being consistent, creating meaningful and engaging content while keeping great communication with students keep them tuned in. 

Follow the four O's if modifying course content: Origins, Organization, Orchestration, Outcome Assessment. Also be consistent with course layout. Use a personalized intro or a welcome letter if needed.

Instructors are also facilitators. To help students, focus on learner, not the technology. Provide prompt, timely feedback. Also using effective methods of teaching can help you develop and learn more as an instructor.
