About me

I am an Education Advisor/Consultant for MaxKnowledge. I write courses that assist in the professional development of career college instructors. These courses range in content from the introductory level to advanced instructional development. I started my teaching career as an instructional technology teacher on the high school level, completed graduate school and then moved into higher education. I spent many years in the area of teacher training at the University of Nebraska. While at the University of Nebraska I stared working with career college instructors to improve their instructional delivery skills. As a result of these experiences I have been a consultant to career colleges throughout the United States and a number of foreign countries.

Hi Beatrice, You have a clear picture of your instructional style, you know who you are and what you need to do as a professional. To me this is a complete picture. As you mention their are always things to can do to add variety to your classes. The fact that you get good evaluations gives evidence to the fact you are getting through to your students. We need to offer learning opportunities in which our students can see application, relevancy and and transferability of what they are learning. Teaching to Multiple Intelligences

Hi Margie, Yes, I can see that your are fascinated with the different cognitive approaches and how we humans process all that is coming at us. I have been researching how people of like personalities tend to go into the same career areas. It is called Vocational Implications of Personality (VIP). Matching Content to Need

Hi William, One of the challenges instructors face is to make sure they are bringing the best and most accurate information to their students. When textbooks don't contain that information in relation to the topic being discussed then you do have to introduce the specifics. Textbooks are foundational and after that it is up to you and your expertise to introduce the relevant content. With your work as the operations manager you are an excellent resource for your students since you are bringing to the classroom content based upon what happen that day.
