About me

I am an Education Advisor/Consultant for MaxKnowledge. I write courses that assist in the professional development of career college instructors. These courses range in content from the introductory level to advanced instructional development. I started my teaching career as an instructional technology teacher on the high school level, completed graduate school and then moved into higher education. I spent many years in the area of teacher training at the University of Nebraska. While at the University of Nebraska I stared working with career college instructors to improve their instructional delivery skills. As a result of these experiences I have been a consultant to career colleges throughout the United States and a number of foreign countries.

Hi Margaret, This is a good approach to teaching. You have a specific plan for covering the course content but there are a number of different ways you can get there. By letting the students be a part of the selection process you are getting buy in and they are invested in the end results. Gary

Hi Tina, You can develop your questioning skills by looking at a topic or subject from several different ways and then write down some questions of discovery. I have found that by using case studies I can bring out more questions of depth and challenge for my students. After doing several case studies you will start to see what questions are the most effective to use. I write these questions down so I can use them the next time I teach the course. The professional development classes I assume are for all students as they get ready to put themselves on the market. In your experience what have you found to be the most effective way for individuals to "separate themselves from the herd"? How and what can they do to get a second look from employers and HR people?
