A basic review of why soft skills are important, and effective.
Basic common sense, expressing that the soft skills are key.
Time manangement is very important, in order to stay on task and complete required tasks assigned. In our industry of Food preparation and baking we rely heavily on time manangement. If tasks are not complete on time, our customers(students as well) suffer greatly.
To treat students as customers we need to implement guidelines, use effective teaching strategies, and mentor.
Be a bit more flexible. Set short and long term goals for the studnets achievement.
Make sure that your non-verbal listening isn't misguided. Restate, or paraphrase what was said, so that the student knows you were listening.
Students are, our primary customers. Treated fairly, listening is a key point to ther success. Willingness to listen, is hard when many distractions occur. It is best, to set aside time to listen to the issues, rather than acting first.
There are many factors that can work against studnets learning. Environment, social staus, work ethics, recallection of infomation. we as educators need tro be aware of these issues.
Knowing that I need to choose better expressions of comments, keeping learned knowledge of others to my self and not discussing with anyone else except my Director. I can eaily be dismissed for conduct unbecoming a professional.
