Know your content, practice the demonstration before showing, don't drone on lecture in class.

 

I have always greeted the studnets as they entered the classroom, secondly, introducted myself and gave some background information about myself then let each student tell me a little bit about them, hobbies etc... Relax the nervousness, and create a more calming atmosphere.

 

Preparation, environment and effectiveness are crucial to quality learing.

Life experiences can serve as learnig support to the class when relates to success in the career path choen.  Feedback is important to the induviduals because they want to know how they are doing in a timely manner.

 

Give the students small bits of information to process.... like How do you eat an elephant?  One bite at a time

Develop rapport with the students, trust and respect go along way. Break the trust and you are done! Watch verbal and non-verbal cues.

 

It is ok to start class off with a joke or an anecdote of the day.  Students relate more effectvely when the instructor allows the reins to loosen rather be constrictive and all points must be completed be the end of class.  Have fun teaching, studnets can detect teachers who are bored and tired of teaching the same materials over and over.

 

From this section i have learned that it is ok for students to voice opions aslong as it doesn't escalate into a gripe session.  Meeting the needs of students is a priority and should be assesed before class begins in the set environment.
