Activity
Problem-based learning helps students use critical thinking skills, can be connected to real life examples, and can have multiple ways of completing.
Incorporating 3-5 active learning techniques into a course is a good starting point for implementation and classroom engagement.
Students but be unfamiliar or uncooperative with active learning at first, but if it is presented as a way for them to gain more critical thinking and problem-solving skills, they may realize by actively engaging they will learn the material at a higher level.
For active learning, the professor acts more as a coach or mentor, assisting the students on their learning, rather than presenting the learning material while students passively receive it.
