Having a "guide" to keep you on track, and help gain deeper understanding of the "why", is critical to being a good insturtor.  I have used and build lesson plans in the past and they can safe your day if you get off track

Very good overview of how to "prepare" for your class.  From experience I know that getting to know your students is the building block for the rest.  Time management will be easier once you know who you are working with and can tailor your lesson plan to the group.

Very interesting to understand the different types of assessment.  I plan to use the many different techniques to assess the learners knowledge gained from the courses I teach.

Questions, when asked in certain ways or tone, can help students gain deeper understanding than just simply spilling out facts and having them read assignments.

Reply to Jean Dugrot's post: Great takeaway, having students learn in multiple ways is both helping themselves and the instructor.

By knowing how to assess a students perferred learning style, I can develop activities and content to better reach the whole of my students and reduce the amount of students that "struggle" with the content.  If all of the students learn, then I have helped reduce the amount of delays in "catching" students up with the material.
