This module showed me that effective feedback should be timely, focused, and manageable. Giving students ten corrections at once can overwhelm them, so feedback should prioritize two or three improvements related to safety, professional competency, and the next logical skill. At Decolovers Institute, I intend to group students by common performance patterns and use AI to help draft consistent feedback, which our instructors will review and personalize. I also want to incorporate self-assessment checklists so students can identify strengths and errors in their balloon projects before submitting them, helping them develop greater independence and professional judgment.

This module reinforced that AI should support assessment without replacing professional judgment. It can help organize evaluation notes, identify patterns across student work, and improve consistency, but the instructor must remain responsible for determining competency and readiness. At Decolovers Institute, I intend to use AI to analyze anonymized rubric results and recognize common difficulties across practical projects. This will help us identify what needs to be retaught and provide more consistent feedback, while our instructors continue making all final grading decisions based on their professional expertise.

This module showed me that great leadership requires more than giving instructions. Leaders must define a clear purpose, build trust, foster hope, inspire others, and turn ideas into results. They should also create a safe environment where people can learn from mistakes and understand why their contributions matter. I intend to apply these principles by communicating our vision more clearly, recognizing each team member’s impact, encouraging new ideas, and leading with honesty, optimism, and consistent action.

This module helped me understand that different leadership styles can be effective depending on the situation and the needs of the team. I identified most strongly with the authoritative style because I like to establish a clear vision while giving people the freedom to use their talents and creativity. I plan to apply this knowledge by adapting my leadership style when necessary, listening to my team, supporting their development, and balancing high standards with clear guidance and encouragement.

I learned that effective leadership begins with a genuine desire to guide, support, and positively influence others. It is not defined by a title but by consistent actions, adaptability, confidence, and commitment to personal growth. I also learned that understanding my strengths and challenges can help me become a more intentional leader. I intend to apply this by communicating a clear vision, recognizing my team’s progress, delegating more effectively, and continuing to improve how I provide feedback and manage difficult situations.

I learned that noncompliance can harm both the institution and the students’ trust. I will apply this by following policies consistently, communicating clearly, and always doing the right thing for the right reasons.
