It is a two way street with the student and the school/instructors.  The student needs to show that they are there for a purpose, and it is up to the instructor to lead with that purpose and get them there. 

It is important to help your students realize their potential- and also prepare them for a world where they are responsible for their own actions. I believe that there is a balance here, and if we can strike that balance, our students will stay in class 

There will be a mix of all types in a classroom. It is up to us as instructors to keep the balance. Different methods for different personalities. There is no "one fits all" approach.

I find this to be a very good thing to remember- and I will be including it in my planning. 

So far this course has set out some good reminders-- that though we are routing for our students, to always remember there is a line that should not be crossed. -- this is important for everyone involved.
