Punctuality

It often crosses my mind how can an instructor mark a student tardy when the instructor is not on time for class.  As educators/professionals, we should certainly practice what we preach.  Punctuality is of the utmost importance on a job.  Let's lead by example.  Instructors, if you expect your students to be on time for class, you must be on time for class!

Punctuality teaches students that it is very important to your employer and your student's professors that they are punctual with their attendance as well as when they submit their assignmnts.  It is very important thAT THE STUDENTS ARE PUNCTUAL.

Everything in your classroom should be an example of what it is going to be like out in the workforce.  That is why I feel it is important that they dress appropirately, call when they are not going to be in classs, just a few examples

I like to start them out as if they are in the real world and let them know what their boss is going to expect out of them. Professionalism starts at school.

Punctuality is important to me.  Tardiness is a huge pet peeve.

@uncleclay58 : If students are chrinically late, it shows me that their heart is not in school.

I agree 100%. I make it to class 30 minutes early everyday, so that I'm prepared when they arrive. It gives me time to gather my resources and make copies if I need to.

I agree with you. We should expect what we practice.

I often feel that arriving 5 minutes before class starts already feels late for an instructor.
