F2F becomes on-line

I am surprised how many instructors I talk with who say that they are basically teaching their on-line courses the same way they taught face-to-face. If they incorporated student-centered learning and lost of cooperative group activities, this may be oaky. I fear that some are referring to the cycle of "lecture, practice, quiz." What do others think?

I feel that on line instructors think they are teaching the same way they teach face to face, however the are able to delf deeper into subject matter point by point.  I think on-line courses can be compared to the idea of teaching the perfect class.

Sarah, great insight! I think you are correct in your assessment.

Well, Some on line instructors may feel that way.  But, I believe they have to adapt to make the course effective.  If they don't the class is a waste.  The good ones will adapt.
