Motivating Students

I found the information very helpful. I've struggled with being able to motivate some students and I will take some of this information and apply it in my classes and I believe it will be helpful. I particularly like the idea of breaking the class in groups and letting them work together on some assignments. I believe it will help them open up and also get to know their classmates.

In addition to having students work together as a team, I also like the idea of having students take on the role of being the "instructor" by having them select (or possibly assigning them) a topic from a chapter or unit and then have them present the information (lesson) to the rest of the class.

I like this idea. I also like to turn my students into the educator once a week by having them ask the classrom a "question of the day". It's usually something I do to get the brain working 1st thing in the morning, and it teaches them how to use their research skills. I learn something new and interesting from them when I give them a chance to ask the questions.
